Stepan Company is proud to be acknowledged as the Most Sustainable Chemical Company by World Finance magazine. This announcement was made as part of the magazine’s 2023 Sustainability Awards.
Awards were distributed across 27 various industry segments and are awarded to companies that understand the importance of sustainable business practices and have integrated environmental, social and governance (ESG) values into their business.
At Stepan, we put health, safety and security first, recognizing that the people who enable our business are our top priority. We take the well-being of our employees, customers, visitors and communities in which we operate into consideration with every decision we make.
Recently, the Brzeg Dolny team participated in the "Best in Safety” competition organized by the Central Institute for Labor Protection. Close to 1,000 companies across Poland took part in this national safety contest, with Stepan earning a spot in the top ten.
Continuing Stepan’s longstanding relationship with Teach for America and Chicago International Charter School (CICS) Northtown Academy, Stepan recently hosted high school students at our Global Technology Center (GTC), in Northfield, Illinois. Students were immersed in various science presentations and lab demonstrations within our surfactant and polymer laboratories.
Stepan Company took part in an Illinois Chemical Education Foundation (ICEF) event where a record 18 high school students received a $2,000 scholarship each for demonstrating academic excellence in the pursuit of a science-related career. The annual event also recognizes the top high school chemistry teacher in Illinois with the $3,000 Davidson Award. Stepan was the sole gold-level sponsor.
